Child Safety

Our Commitment to Child Safety

We are committed to making our Club a safe and fun environment where kids can pursue academic success, good character and citizenship, and a healthy lifestyle – all under the guidance of our caring, trained, trustworthy adult leaders.

Criminal background checks are required for every staff member and volunteer who has direct contact with children that we hire. Additionally, all potential employees and volunteers are run through the National Sex Offender Registry. We employ our Child Protection Policy through the hiring and training processes of our employees, and continue it through supervision and feedback systems.

In addition, we practice safety drills throughout the year to let our members know what to do in an emergencies such as lock-downs, bomb threats, evacuations, or active shooters. The goals of these monthly training drills are to improve our ability to protect our Club members, save lives, and reduce injuries. These practice drills allow us to evaluate our emergency operation plans and improve our response skills.
