We work to break down barriers in order to serve as many children in our communities as possible, and when kids can't come to our Clubs, we bring our programs to them.

We are committed to ensuring that our programs are accessible to youth throughout our community, regardless of their life circumstances, and we are committed to meeting youth where they are in life. We make every effort to bring our programs directly to the youth in our cities who cannot get to our Clubs.
Transportation is a significant barrier for the youth of our city accessing after-school programs. The Brockton Public School system is only able to provide transportation to and from school to 9,000 of the 17,000 youth in their schools. Moreover, with a community-based school system, schools are closer to kids' homes, but without a centralized school location, our downtown Clubhouses are often several miles away from our members' schools.
Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South operates programs at the housing communities of Chatham West and The Pines Apartments in order to serve the youth from these neighborhoods who may not have transportation to our Clubs. Our partnership with Beacon Communities allows us to bring the positive benefits of Club membership directly to youth who otherwise would not have access to our programs.
We bring our fun and educational programs to neighborhoods around our cities so that even when kids can’t get to us, they still benefit from our life-changing programs. Members of the extension site programs in these communities have access to all the core enrichment programs offered at our Clubhouses, including educational assistance, sports and recreation, and good character and leadership development. We work tirelessly within and beyond the walls of our Clubhouses to break down barriers and ensure that the youth of our communities have access to the resources and opportunities they need to achieve great futures.
