Meet Our Club Alumni
Featured Alumni: Mercedees Thompson
Mercedees was a Club member at our Taunton Clubhouse from 1995-2003. Mercedees participated in all the sports programs, the Art program, the Ja Shin Do Tae Kwon Do program, and completed swim lessons and levels with Coach Bob. As a 2007 Taunton High School graduate and AFJROTC alum, she moved on to attend Bridgewater State University where she studied Criminal Justice and Sociology and graduated in 2012 with her Bachelors Degree.
From there she has had many jobs in the Mental Health & Youth Development field, such as a Residential Caseworker, Therapeutic Mentor, and even the Teen & Leadership Coordinator at the Taunton Boys & Girls Club. For the past 7 years, she has been at the Boys & Girls Club of Boston: Yawkey Club of Roxbury as one of the Teen Retention & Engagement Coordinators aka "Teen Advocate". At the Club she has accomplished many things, such as being the advisor for Torch Club for 5 years and now a co-advisor for the Keystone Club.
Mercedees was also the Lead advisor for the travel program called Explore India for 4 years (where she traveled to India with 10-12 different teens each year for 2 weeks in February). Mercedees facilitates the Girls group for the Teen members as well as the Pre-Teen into Teen transitional program. She has traveled on many HBCU College tours during April vacations with teens, created an innovative program and received funds for the Torch Club members to feed the homeless near Mass Ave in Boston.
Mercedees brings her creativity and artistic skills when it comes to crafts and social media for the teens, and has brought a different twist for Tasty Tuesdays. This year she will be applying for another innovative program called Global Tastebuds, where members get the opportunity to virtually travel to another country and cook a simple recipe from that country. Recently, Mercedees was inducted into the Floor Hockey Hall of Fame at our Taunton Clubhouse.
Mercedees' career goal is to become a Juvenile Probation Officer, and is working toward that goal by building her network in the Boston area and continuing to keep up with exams, and education. Mercedees always shares with her teens how much the Club has positively impacted her life. She appreciates everything the staff has done and what the club has provided.

Kiley is a Class of 2022 alumni of our Taunton Clubhouse, and is currently attending the University of Rhode Island for Marine Biology. Kiley served as our 2022 Youth of the Year, was a committed member of the Tiger Shark Team, and worked as a lifeguard in our Taunton Clubhouse and at Camp Riverside for summer camp.
Vic is a Class of 2021 alumni of our Taunton Clubhouse, and is currently attending UMass Dartmouth for Pyschology. Vic served as our 2021 Youth of Year, and continues to work in our Taunton Clubhouse as well as at Camp Riverside for summer camp.
Abiana is a Class of 2021 alumni of our Taunton Clubhouse, and served as our 2020 Youth of the Year. Abiana was a member of our Taunton Clubhouse for over 10 years, and is currently attending Salve Regina University. Abiana has worked both in the Taunton Clubhouse and at Camp Riverside during summer camp.
Julieth is a Class of 2019 alumni of the Brockton Clubhouse and served as our 2019 Youth of the Year. During her time in the Club, she actively participated in the Keystone Club, the SMART Girls program, and the music program. Julieth is currently attending Franklin University in New Hampshire for Pediatric Occupational Therapy.
Marcus is a Class of 2018
alumni of our Club. He graduated from UMass Dartmouth in 2022, where he pursued a degree in Information Systems Management and had a very successful basketball career.

Adande attended our Clubs for 12 years and served as our 2018 Youth of the Year. She is currently pursing a degree in Health and Wellness at the UMass Dartmouth.
Mariah was our Youth of the Year
in 2017 and was a member of the Class of 2018. She received a BA in Psychology with a double major in Criminal Justice & Education,
and Mariah is currently working towards her Master's/PhD at
Boston University.
Makayla is a 2015 Alumni of our Brockton Clubhouse and served as our Youth of the Year in 2013 as well as 2014. She went on to pursue a degree in Political Science and graduated from Salem State University in 2019.
